Currently, there are 51 specialized evacuation groups operating in Ukraine, belonging to the National Police of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service.

During a briefing at Ukrinform, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oleksiy Serhiyiev announced this information.

He stated, “We currently have a total of 51 groups - 24 from the National Police and 27 from the State Emergency Service.”

The Deputy Minister emphasized that these groups differ from regular evacuation teams or police units due to their specific training and equipment.

“All specialized evacuation groups are equipped with armored vehicles, additional protection systems, Starlink communication, medical backpacks, a supply of drinking water and food, and necessary equipment for evacuating citizens, including those with limited mobility and children,” Serhiyiev explained.

He also informed that besides evacuation efforts, these groups provide direct assistance to populations under constant shelling, delivering medications, humanitarian aid, drinking water, and other items needed by citizens.

At the beginning of August, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko stated that there are 5 evacuation groups operating in Sumy region.
