The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, and the Security Service of Ukraine conveyed their best wishes to media professionals, thanking them for their courage and professionalism, especially during wartime, while also honoring the memory of those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The head of state expressed gratitude to all journalists and media personnel who develop new information platforms.
“The world knows what is happening in Ukraine. Every country understands our position. This has been made possible by the efforts of thousands of media workers,” noted Zelensky.
He emphasized that the professionalism and bravery of journalists are crucial weapons in the fight for independence.
“Thank you! Happy Journalist Day. Remember those who have lost their lives in this war; their heroism deserves honor. Glory to Ukraine!” added the President.
Greetings from Commander-in-Chief General Oleksandr Syrskyi
General Syrskyi also joined in congratulating journalists, highlighting their essential role in conveying the truth to society.
“You are the voice of a nation fighting for its freedom. Your work is invaluable for the military and society,” stated the general.
He also noted that many journalists have joined the defense forces from the very first days of the invasion, turning public trust into support and aid.
“We remember with deep respect those who lost their lives in the line of duty. Their courage will remain in our memories,” he explained.

The Security Service highlighted the dangerous conditions under which journalists operate: “You work where it is most crucial to show the truth, despite the risks.”
“Your work is vital for the international community to understand how our people defend their values,” noted the SBU.
Journalist Day: Key Facts
Journalist Day (June 6) is an annual celebration for media workers in Ukraine, symbolizing the importance of journalism in society.
The holiday was established on May 25, 1994, by a decree from President Leonid Kravchuk.
The date was chosen to commemorate the admission of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine to the International Federation of Journalists on June 6, 1992.
