Andriy Bilous, who is accused of sexual harassment, has resigned from his role as the director and artistic leader of the Kyiv Academic Young Theatre.

This was reported by the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration.

It is noted that Bilous submitted a resignation letter by mutual agreement, and the Department has already signed the appropriate order.

"All further personnel decisions regarding the temporary fulfillment of the theatre director's duties will be made in accordance with the established legal framework," the Department stated.

Earlier, a petition No. 13512 was created demanding the termination of the powers of the artistic director of the Young Theatre Andriy Bilous. Within a week, it gathered the necessary number of votes.

Artists and activists have called for the dismissal of the controversial director for four months, protesting outside the Kyiv City State Administration building. Actors from the theatre shared their experiences and concerns about Bilous and the accusations against him.
