Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, have signed an agreement to bolster Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
According to "European Truth", Shmyhal announced this via Facebook.
The agreement stipulates that Ukraine will receive 270 million euros under state guarantees, complemented by a 140 million euro grant from the Norwegian government.
"This will enable Naftogaz of Ukraine to import substantial volumes of natural gas in preparation for the upcoming heating season," explained Shmyhal.
He noted that since the onset of Russia's full-scale aggression, the EBRD has mobilized over 6 billion euros for Ukraine in loans, grants, and guarantees.
Earlier reports indicated that by 2025, the EBRD plans to invest at least 1.5 billion euros in support of Ukraine's economy and businesses during wartime.
In particular, 1 billion euros is earmarked for the energy sector's support.
