According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, all three nuclear power plants in Ukraine, namely Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, and South Ukraine, are still generating electricity. However, some blocks are temporarily offline for scheduled maintenance, while others are operating at reduced capacity.

The agency noted that at the Khmelnytskyi NPP, one reactor is currently in maintenance mode, while the output of the second block was reduced for 36 hours at the beginning of the week at the request of the grid operator.
At the Rivne NPP, the second block has also been put into maintenance mode, while the third block's output was curtailed for several days this week as requested by the operator.
The South Ukraine NPP also experienced fluctuations in capacity this week.
Interestingly, on April 17, seven drones were detected 2 km east of the station, a situation that frequently occurs during the ongoing conflict.
Moreover, teams at both the Chornobyl site and South Ukraine NPP have been hearing air raid alarms almost daily.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stated that agency experts working at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP were forced to remain at home due to loud gunfire near their office.
Additionally, Grossi noted that the IAEA team continued to hear explosions and gunfire from various distances from the station almost every day over the past week.
