Turkey has successfully completed the first phase of developing the Sakarya gas field in the Black Sea, achieving a record daily gas production of 9.5 million cubic meters.
This announcement was made by Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, on social media platform X, as reported by Ukrinform.
“The initial phase of the Sakarya gas field has been completed. Daily production stands at 9.5 million cubic meters,” the minister stated.
He noted that this volume of natural gas is sufficient to supply 4 million households, and efforts to increase production will continue.
It is worth mentioning that the United States has agreed to extend the sanctions exemption, allowing Turkey to continue purchasing Russian natural gas.
