Fox News incorrectly referred to Kyiv as a «Russian» city during the Easter service broadcast.
A caption reading «Kyiv, Russia» appeared on-screen while simultaneously showing a service from Russia featuring Vladimir Putin, alongside the Easter ceremony in Kyiv and events in the Vatican.
According to United24, the Ukrainian service was initially labeled correctly as «Kyiv, Ukraine», but after a brief pause, the title changed to «Kyiv, Russia».
The mistake was later corrected, but the «Kyiv, Russia» caption remained on air for about 20 minutes.
Response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the labeling of Kyiv as «Russian».
Spokesperson Georgiy Tikhiy called for an apology regarding the incident.
«If this was a mistake and not a deliberate political statement, an apology should be made, and an investigation should determine who made the error», he stated.
