The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has broadened support for agricultural producers planning to construct vegetable storage facilities under the "Affordable Loans 5-7-9%" program.
This information was announced by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
The relevant resolution was adopted during the meeting on April 18.
According to the new regulations, agricultural producers investing in the construction of vegetable and potato storage facilities can receive state support in the form of interest rate compensation on loans up to 150 million UAH, similar to livestock and processing enterprises.
The Ministry noted that due to the war and destruction of infrastructure in Ukraine, the storage deficit has risen to 60%. The need for new storage facilities is estimated at 340,000 tons.
"This measure will enhance the country's food security and help reduce price fluctuations for vegetables and fruits during the off-season," said Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaliy Koval.
It should be noted that Minister Vitaliy Koval has urged businesses to invest in vegetable storage facilities.
