With the arrival of spring in Ukraine, the productivity of solar power plants has increased, prompting experts to encourage citizens to use powerful electrical devices during the day.
This information comes from the press service of "Ukrenergo".
"It is critically important to adhere to recommendations for optimizing energy consumption on sunny days. We urge you to actively use high-energy appliances between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM — when the energy system requires it the most", the message states.
Energy specialists emphasize that during the daytime, the active operation of solar power plants leads to an excess of power in the energy system, necessitating restrictions on their operation.
In the evening peak hours, on the other hand, solar energy is no longer available, and alternative generation sources must be utilized.
Moreover, addressing the excess power during the day through exports is challenging since neighboring countries have similar or even greater solar power capacity.
"Currently, the difference between cloudy and sunny days amounts to the capacity of several units of large thermal power plants", Ukrenergo added.
During cloudy and cold days, energy specialists advise shifting electricity consumption to evening and nighttime hours to avoid restrictions during peak consumption periods.
Reminder:
On April 17, morning electricity consumption was 5% lower compared to the previous day — April 16.
