A Ukrainian man who recently lost custody of his two children illegally removed them from a school in Los Angeles and crossed the border into Mexico.

According to police reports, there is a possibility that the man intends to reach Ukraine, as reported by Fox News.

Man abducts children in the US and flees to Mexico

Authorities are on the lookout for 39-year-old Rodion Kolomoiets, who is suspected of abducting his own children – 9-year-old Aurora and 7-year-old Grant Kolomoiets.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when he took the children from the school without proper authorization.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the suspect Rodion Kolomoiets is a Caucasian male with brown hair and gray eyes.

The report also notes that he is a citizen of Ukraine and likely intends to return to his homeland with the children.

On the same day, the suspect was spotted at the border checkpoint in San Ysidro as his Toyota Prius crossed the border between the US and Mexico.

Currently, the family's whereabouts remain unknown.

Authorities have reported that the suspect and the children primarily communicate in Russian.

The police urge anyone with information regarding the children's or their father's location to contact the LAPD.
