Since the beginning of 2025, the company "Naftogaz" has imported approximately 800 million cubic meters of gas due to military actions and reduced production.
This information was reported by Naftogaz's press service.
Acting CEO of Naftogaz, Roman Chumak, shared these figures during a meeting with the Japanese ambassador to Ukraine, Masashi Nakagome.
"As a result of the shelling, we lost part of our production, so our top priority is restoring damaged facilities and resuming production before the start of the next heating season.
At the same time, the Group continues to import gas to compensate for losses and build sufficient reserves – since the beginning of the year, about 800 million cubic meters of gas has been imported," the report states.
Naftogaz also mentioned that work is ongoing with the government and international partners to find funding opportunities for the necessary volumes of gas for the upcoming winter.
Reminder:
Ukraine may import a record 5 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and depletion of reserves.
