Ukrzaliznytsia is continuously improving its services, especially for families traveling with children. Starting from February 27, 2025, the company will introduce its first children's carriage on the international route of train No. 351/352 Kyiv — Chisinau. This initiative aims to provide a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience for families with young kids.
What to Know About the New Children's Carriage to Chisinau
One of the main advantages of this carriage is its special equipment designed for the comfort and safety of young passengers. The carriage is equipped with ramps for strollers, playpens for infants, changing tables, and hypoallergenic bedding. Additionally, there is a focus on entertainment and nutrition: themed compartments with illustrations, the possibility to warm up baby food, and a special children's menu will make the journey even more enjoyable for little travelers. Importantly, the carriage is fully certified for international routes, ensuring compliance with all necessary standards.
The carriage is suitable for families with children of all ages, but is particularly designed for transporting infants and kids up to 8 years old. During boarding, young passengers will receive special wristbands indicating their compartment and their parents' contact number. The corridor of the carriage features interactive posters, busy boards with moving elements, and soft-covered handrails for safe movement throughout the carriage. The design of the children's carriage uses materials from the early childhood development platform «NUMO», developed by a team of UNICEF experts in Ukraine with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The children's carriage will operate as part of train No. 351/352 Kyiv — Chisinau. The train departs from Kyiv at 17:05 and arrives in Chisinau at 11:30 the next day. In the opposite direction, it leaves Chisinau at 17:34 and arrives in Kyiv at 12:20. To purchase a ticket for this carriage, one should look for the special marking «Children's Carriage». Ticket prices may vary based on various factors, so it is recommended to check prices directly before purchasing. Ticket sales for the children's carriage are already open.
This initiative by Ukrzaliznytsia demonstrates the company's commitment to continuous development and improved service quality, especially for families with children who require special attention and comfort during their travels. According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, over 2.5 million mothers with children crossed the Ukrainian border in 2023, indicating a significant demand for comfortable travel conditions for this category of passengers.
