Google has announced new features related to personal information security and image management in search results.
According to information from The Tech Crunch, the updates include the ability to remove unwanted images and enhance privacy settings.
The tool for removing search results linked to personal data now allows users to eliminate information regarding driver's license numbers and other critical documents. Users can utilize this tool to maintain control over their personal information online.
Access to the new tool can be obtained through the Google app by clicking on their profile picture and selecting the option to remove personal data. To start, users must click “Get Started” and input the contact information they wish to monitor.
After confirming the information, Google will continuously monitor search results and inform the user of any data found that matches the specified criteria. It's important to note that removing this data from search results does not mean it is completely erased from the Internet, but it helps to maintain your privacy.
Initially, the update will be available in the U.S., with plans for broader implementation in other markets soon.
In addition, Google has streamlined the process for requesting the removal of explicit images. Users can now simply click on the three dots under an image, select “Remove Result,” and confirm that the image is explicit. There is also now an option to submit removal requests for multiple images at once, greatly simplifying the process. Users can track the status of their requests in the personal data management section.
