Ukrzaliznytsia has announced plans to build a new train station in Fastiv, located in the Kyiv region. During the construction period, passengers will be served in a temporary modular facility set up at the platform. This was reported by the mayor of Fastiv, Mykhailo Netyazhuk, on Facebook.
Following a meeting led by Oleksandr Pertsovsky, a decision was made to demolish the damaged structure and proceed with the construction of the new station. Netyazhuk emphasized that the project will undergo public discussions to include feedback from local residents.
Fastiv station has resumed operations following the Russian shelling on December 6, and railway workers are doing everything possible to restore services to Kyiv. A tent has been set up on the platform for heating and waiting areas for passengers.
It was reported that on December 6, a massive attack by Russia had destroyed railway infrastructure in Fastiv. Today, Pertsovsky announced that traffic through the Fastiv junction station has been restored.
