The Kyiv region is set to receive 260 modern buses from the Île-de-France region, as reported by Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
According to him, some of the buses will be delivered to communities this year, while the rest will arrive according to the planned logistics schedule.
«This is a significant contribution to the development of our region's transport infrastructure and another example of reliable support from our French partners,» Kalashnyk emphasized.
The buses will be fully serviced and equipped with electric ramps for people with limited mobility, surveillance cameras, emergency response buttons, validators for e-ticket implementation, and GPS trackers for monitoring movement. The French side will also provide a full set of spare parts.
Kalashnyk highlighted that local engineers possess the necessary skills for prompt maintenance, ensuring the reliable operation of transport on routes.
He reminded that the full-scale invasion caused significant losses in the transport sector of Kyiv region: over a hundred buses were destroyed or damaged due to Russian attacks, and the school transport network lost dozens of vehicles—some were stolen during the occupation, while others were destroyed or repurposed for military needs.
The head of the administration thanked Valérie Pécresse, the president of the Île-de-France Regional Council, for her support: «Thanks to such decisions, the Kyiv region receives not just buses—we are restoring mobility for our residents, revitalizing community life, and enhancing resilience.»
