The Ukrainian government has endorsed a new action plan aimed at modernizing management structures within the fuel and energy complex companies. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on November 17.

The primary goal is to refresh the management by forming new supervisory boards in state energy companies, including:

  • NAEK "Energoatom": establishment of a new supervisory board;
  • NAK "Naftogaz": conducting a competition to select members for the supervisory board and forming executive bodies;
  • PrAT "Ukrhydroenergo": appointing a new state representative to the supervisory board and holding a competition for the position of head;
  • LLC "Operator of the Gas Transmission System of Ukraine": updating the state representative in the supervisory board and completing the competition for the head position;
  • NEK "Ukrenergo": changing the state representative in the supervisory board;
  • PAT "Centrenergo", AT "Energy Company of Ukraine", among others — forming new supervisory boards;
  • DP "Guaranteed Buyer": transitioning to a joint-stock company and creating a new supervisory board;
  • Updating charters and regulations regarding supervisory boards in accordance with international corporate governance standards.

"The main task this week is to approve the new supervisory board of Energoatom," Svyrydenko added.
