Ukraine has officially begun the mass production of advanced interceptor drones designed to counter aerial threats. This announcement was made by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal during a press conference.
According to him, the technology has been transferred to three primary manufacturers, with an additional eleven companies preparing to initiate production lines.
"Our technology, known as Octopus, represents a Ukrainian innovation in defense, tested in real combat situations. It operates effectively at night and under electronic jamming conditions," the minister stated.
He also highlighted the ministry's commitment to collaborating with manufacturers to ensure a swift transition from innovation to practical solutions that enhance the country's defense capabilities.
Recall that during an official visit to the United Kingdom, President Volodymyr Zelensky introduced the Octopus interceptor drone, which has undergone extensive testing in Ukraine.
According to information from the President's Office, the United Kingdom plans to produce these drones for further testing in Ukraine. Following the tests, Britain is prepared to scale production both domestically and in Ukraine.
Recently, Volodymyr Zelensky also announced that Ukraine has started producing interceptor drones in collaboration with the USA. While specific production volumes were not disclosed, earlier he mentioned intentions to produce between 500 to 800 drones daily as early as November.
