The "Heroes Memorial" channel on YouTube is back online after it was blocked following numerous complaints from Russian users. This was reported by the Institute of Mass Information, citing co-founder Gayane Avakyan.
Avakyan thanked those who actively supported and spread information about the blocking.
According to her, the platform's team reached out to government agencies and organizations that also made requests to the service.
"The restoration was made possible thanks to Tatiana Lukinyuk, the General Manager of Google Ukraine, who responded to our request. We hope that such incidents will not occur again," emphasized Gayane.
The "Heroes Memorial" channel features 18 documentaries available to everyone, including films about fallen heroes and the missile attack by Russia on Dnipro that resulted in 52 deaths, as well as nearly 100 memory videos with stories and memories about the fallen soldiers.
The Russian government has allowed Roskomnadzor to block any websites and disconnect the Russian internet from the global network starting March 1, 2026, particularly in cases of "spreading prohibited content."
