The Kingdom of the Netherlands is allocating €10 million to bolster Ukraine's cybersecurity and digital resilience. This funding will be utilized under the "Ukraine Cyber Programme" (UCP), initiated by the UK government in 2022.
According to Mykhailo Fedorov, the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Ukraine is working with its partners on implementing the "Tallinn Mechanism and other initiatives aimed at enhancing protection against cyber threats".
The primary focus is on developing Ukraine's civilian cyber capabilities and building cyber infrastructure for various government bodies. Additionally, there are plans to acquire software and hardware for public institutions and critical infrastructure operators.
Part of the funds will be directed towards financing projects under the Tallinn Mechanism – an international initiative that helps Ukraine strengthen its cyber resilience and digital security. Currently, 13 countries have joined this initiative, including the USA, UK, Poland, Netherlands, and others.
"In the context of the most technologically advanced war in history, the support from partners in cybersecurity is a significant signal of trust and strategic partnership that enhances our ability to protect critical infrastructure and ensure the sustainability of digital processes," said Valeria Ionan, advisor to Mykhailo Fedorov.
