In honor of the upcoming holiday, Ukrposhta introduces a new postal release titled «Language», aimed at supporting the Ukrainian language: speaking Ukrainian means preserving our cultural identity and historical heritage.

«Language unites us, inspires great achievements, and strengthens our bonds even in challenging times. This theme resonates with all of us at Ukrposhta, — stated the CEO Igor Smilyansky. — Everything starts with a word, a letter, those heartfelt lines that come from the soul. They create genuine connections — sincere, warm, or even spicy, but always ours, Ukrainian. And it's important to remember that the best words are those that come sincerely from the heart, not just on this special day.»

He emphasized that the new stamp symbolizes the beauty, depth, and strength of the Ukrainian language. It speaks of our memory, our strength, and our love. This is a masterpiece where each element has its own significance.

«At the center of the composition is a woman in national attire with a wreath and beads. Beside her is a bird, symbolizing freedom and purity, as well as a rooster, representing fire and awakening, — explained Igor Smilyansky. — Around her blooms a world of viburnum and sunflowers. The sunflower always signifies the sun, light, and well-being, while the viburnum symbolizes love, motherhood, beauty, but also courage and resilience.»

Next to her, on a boat, is the Cossack Mamay with a kobza. He embodies freedom and the song that remembers our history. Behind him, the sun rises, and in his heart is a wooden church. This symbolizes spirituality and rebirth. Above all, colorful ribbons of the wreath flutter: green for youth and life, blue for sky and water, and orange for the fertility of the earth.»

The offered postal set includes: the sheet «Language», an envelope labeled «First Day», and a card.

The sketches created by the artist Mykola Kochubey are based on symbols that connect the past and the present. They embody the role of the Ukrainian language as a source of the nation’s spiritual life, a language that shapes identity and affirms the state. Each symbol speaks to the diversity of Ukrainian culture.

Mykola Kochubey is a Ukrainian graphic artist whose works are preserved in the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko.

The print run of the stamp is 180,000 copies.

On the envelope are the words of the Bukovinian writer and composer Sydir Vorobkevych: «Native language, native word! Those who forget you have no heart in their chests, but only a stone.»

Pre-orders for the postal set can be made at the postal market, and starting from October 30, it will be available for purchase not only online but also at post offices and philatelic shops. Price: 190 UAH.
