In the capital, at the Central Bus Station, a new mural dedicated to the heroes of the Ukrainian rescue service has been unveiled. This significant event took place on the eve of the annual Rescuers' Day celebrated on September 17.
The artwork was created by talented artist Diana Sorokina.
She has over a hundred murals to her name in various regions across the country.
The new mural blends urban art with themes of heroism and assistance, aiming not only to beautify the cityscape but also to emphasize the importance of rescuers in the daily lives of Ukrainians.
Diana Sorokina expressed that this mural is her ode of gratitude to Ukrainian rescuers: “I am very grateful to have been involved in creating this mural. Tomorrow, September 17, is the Day of All Rescuers. I want to thank you for your courage and strength. I hope you will appreciate what I have depicted in this mural.”
Roman Pry mush, Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, emphasized that this mural serves as a reminder for every citizen visiting our city about the invaluable role of rescuers in safeguarding our nation.
“In times of war, rescuers are the ones who come to help first. They often sacrifice their lives and health. Unfortunately, we have already lost 107 of our emergency responders while fulfilling their duties. Many have been injured, yet despite all risks, they continue to be the first to assist,” he stated.
He thanked the leadership of JSC “Kyivpasservis” for their support in commemorating the rescuers who heroically protect lives.
Oleg Mishchenko, head of the board of JSC “Kyivpasservis,” highlighted the importance of such symbolic projects at the Central Bus Station, as it serves not only as a travel hub but also as a public space with cultural significance.
The SES noted that Diana Sorokina has captured and conveyed the values inherent in the dedicated team of Ukrainian rescuers.
