An incident of violence against a group of Ukrainians occurred in Warsaw near a store. The police confirmed that the motive was the nationality of the victims.

This information was reported by Raport Warszawski.

The incident took place last Thursday. Unknown men attacked a group of young Ukrainians. The attackers did not stop at insults and brutally assaulted the victims. A woman accompanying the victims called the police and recorded the entire incident on her phone. Investigators from Białolenka arrived at the scene, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and compiling descriptions of the offenders. An ambulance was called for one of the injured due to their injuries.

The police immediately initiated operations to identify and apprehend the attackers, emphasized Chief Superintendent Paulina Obyshko.

A key piece of evidence was the recording made by a witness. Investigators analyzed the video and identified the offenders. The next day, patrols arrested a 41-year-old man. A few hours later, two more were arrested in an apartment in Białolenka: a 28-year-old and a 36-year-old. During the search, officers discovered methamphetamine, which the older suspect admitted to possessing.

All three men faced charges:

  • The 41-year-old will be held accountable for his involvement in the attack.
  • The 28-year-old was also charged with causing bodily harm, insulting a person based on nationality, and threatening a witness.
  • The 36-year-old was charged with assault, insult, and drug possession, with recidivism as an aggravating factor.

The investigation is being conducted by the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office in Praga-Połnoc. The court placed the suspects under police supervision. Each of them is prohibited from contacting the victims and other co-defendants. Assault and insult based on nationality carry a prison sentence of up to five years. Recidivists may face harsher penalties. It is worth noting that earlier this year, the bodies of two men were found in a hotel in the Polish city of Krakow, one of whom was identified as a 58-year-old Ukrainian citizen who had been living in that room for the past two years.
