The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has awarded state honors to an additional 1039 individuals, including 282 posthumously.
The relevant decrees, published on August 23, are available on the president's official website.
These documents state that the awards are conferred for personal courage shown in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for dedicated service to the Ukrainian people. According to decree №623/2025, 535 National Guardsmen, police officers, and rescuers were honored, 153 of them posthumously. Under decree №624/2025, 504 military personnel received awards, 129 posthumously. Defenders were awarded the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi II and III degrees, Danilo Halytskyi, and medals for bravery of I, II, and III degrees, as well as for military service to Ukraine, Defender of the Fatherland, Saving Life, and Impeccable Service.
