Starting from August 21, the National Bank of Ukraine will issue new 20 hryvnia banknotes. The reverse side of the banknotes will feature the patriotic slogan "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!" in the upper right corner.

This was reported by the NBU press service.

It is noted that all other design and security features will correspond to the 2018 series banknotes, the details of which can be found on the official website of the National Bank.

Modified 20 hryvnia banknotes will be supplied to banks and financial institutions starting August 21 for further issuance to clients and replacement of worn or damaged banknotes.

Citizens do not need to exchange the previous series 20 hryvnia banknotes for the modified ones, according to the NBU.

"These banknotes remain a legal means of payment and will circulate alongside other banknotes of the same denomination from previous years, being accepted without restrictions for all types of payments and deposits across Ukraine," the statement said.
