Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is traveling to the United States on Monday for negotiations with President Donald Trump.
According to "European Truth," he announced this in his Telegram.
Zelensky mentioned that he has already spoken with Trump and European leaders following discussions held in Alaska.
"We had a long and substantive conversation, initially one-on-one, and then with European leaders. Overall, we spoke for over an hour and a half, about an hour with President Trump. President Trump informed me about his meeting with the Russian leader and the main points of their discussion," he detailed.
Zelensky continued that he supports Trump’s proposal for a trilateral meeting involving Ukraine, America, and Russia.
"Ukraine emphasizes that key issues can be discussed at the leaders' level, and the trilateral format is suitable for this. I intend to discuss all details regarding the end of violence and the war with President Trump in Washington on Monday. I appreciate the invitation," the president of Ukraine wrote.
He added that it is important for European partners to be involved at all stages of the process and mentioned "positive signals from the American side" regarding participation in guaranteeing security for Ukraine.
Recall that after the meeting of the two leaders in Alaska, Trump stated that he reached an agreement with Putin on territorial exchanges and that "Zelensky needs to accept this."
He also announced new negotiations with the Kremlin leader and said that he would participate in the meeting between Zelensky and Putin, should it take place.
A correspondent from The Economist learned from sources that a preliminary agreement on a temporary "air" truce was allegedly reached in Alaska, although no official statements have been made on this matter.
