Latvia is set to deliver 16 fire trucks from the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) to Ukraine, complete with emergency rescue equipment.

This was reported by LSM.

The handover ceremony took place on Friday morning and was attended by Latvia's Minister of the Interior, Rihards Kozlovskis, SFRS leadership, and representatives from the society Tavi draugi.

On July 8, the Latvian Cabinet of Ministers approved the initiative from the Ministry of the Interior to donate 16 fire vehicles and specialized rescue equipment to Ukraine free of charge.

The vehicles will be transported to Ukraine by SFRS employees who volunteered to undertake this task in their free time.
