On August 11, a series of events will take place at the Youth House in Kyiv, dedicated to youth engagement, decision-making, and the role of young people in social changes. The events are organized in collaboration with the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House, UNDP in Ukraine, and the Council of Europe.
The program includes thematic board games, presentations, and discussions that create a space for networking, sharing experiences, and knowledge on how youth can influence surrounding processes – in educational institutions, communities, and at the state level.
Event Program for Youth Day:
1. Simulation Board Game “Year of Decisions”
The “Year of Decisions” simulates a year of student self-government activities. Participants will journey from planning to decision-making, developing skills in resource management, teamwork, and engaging students in active participation. The game is created by UNDP in Ukraine and NGO “ET CETERA”.
There will be two rounds of the game: from 14:00 to 16:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00. The number of participants is limited.
2. Board Game “There Are Solutions!”
This game is developed in collaboration with the Council of Europe project “Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase III”, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ukrainian Association of Youth Councils based on the visions and needs of young people.
The meeting will begin with a presentation about the resources and opportunities of the Council of Europe, followed by the game. Participants will explore youth-related policies, forms of participation, barriers, and ways to overcome them. They will also learn about the YPPS (Youth Participation Policy Support) approach and how it relates to youth involvement in decision-making in real life.
The game will run from 15:30 to 17:30. The number of spots is limited.
3. Open Event “EU Integration and Youth Influence”
During this event, participants will learn how the European Union operates and the current stage of Ukraine's integration. They will meet an activist from the Euromaidan, discuss the role of civic activism, and conclude with a discussion on the tools for youth influence. The meeting is organized by the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House as part of a series of events dedicated to Denmark's presidency in the EU Council.
The event will take place from 18:00 to 20:00.
