On August 4, an open competition commenced for the position of head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, the competition commission includes representatives from Ukrainian businesses and international experts in anti-corruption and customs matters.
From Ukraine:
- Andriy Yerashov — head of the analytical center of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP);
- Dmytro Oliinyk — head of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine;
- Oleh Tymkiv — business development director, auditing firm "Moor Stephens".
- From international partners:
- Arūnas Adomenas — customs attaché of Lithuania to the EU, expert in customs policy;
- David Bernstein — governance and institutional reform expert;
- Kunio Mikuriya — international customs policy expert and trade facilitation leader.
Additionally, Svyrydenko reported that the government approved a mid-term action plan for customs reform implementation.
"This is one of the key directions in the National Revenue Strategy until 2030. The reformed customs service is expected to create equal rules for all economic participants and become a source of stable revenue for the state budget," she noted.
