A new law concerning anti-corruption bodies has come into effect in Ukraine.
This was reported by the official publication of the Verkhovna Rada.
The bill introduced by President Volodymyr Zelensky was passed by the Verkhovna Rada to restore the independence of anti-corruption institutions.
On the same day, the President signed the law.
The revised Criminal Procedure Code, passed on July 22, contained potential risks for the effective functioning of the anti-corruption infrastructure, especially regarding the independence of NABU and SAP.
Following the adoption of the law concerning the powers of NABU and SAP, decision-making procedures within the party faction will be improved.
