The Israel Defense Forces have carried out a series of airstrikes on Hezbollah strongholds deep within Lebanon. The targets included training camps and arms depots.
According to Vesty.co.il, the military spokesperson reported that the primary aim of the strikes was to hit the training bases of the elite terrorist units.
"Following intelligence from the AMAN military intelligence and the Northern Command staff, the IAF began striking several terrorist targets in Lebanon", the statement reads.
Lebanese media reported that the strikes occurred in the Baalbek region, over 80 km from the Israeli border.
The IDF clarified that movements of militants were observed at several locations, and intelligence uncovered weapon caches belonging to Hezbollah.
The Israeli military emphasized that these camps were used for combat training of terrorists preparing for actions against Israel, as reported by the publication.
On July 9, Israeli forces announced their entry into southern Lebanon as part of targeted operations to dismantle the Iran-backed Hezbollah infrastructure.
