In the village of Berezina, near Zhytomyr, two explosions occurred, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to 15 others.

This was reported by Vitaliy Bunechko, the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, on his Telegram channel.

«Two powerful explosions took place on the international M-06 highway passing through Berezina. Unfortunately, we can confirm the death of two individuals and 15 wounded», Bunechko stated.

He also mentioned that private homes were affected by the blasts. An operational headquarters has been established at the scene. All relevant services are working to address the aftermath. Medical assistance is being provided to the victims.

According to the Zhytomyr Regional Patrol Police, due to the incident on the 126 km of the M-06 highway Kyiv — Chop (near the village of Berezina), traffic in both directions has been closed.

The Zhytomyr Regional Administration urged residents to close their windows, minimize outdoor exposure, drink more water, and turn on air purifiers.
