In the city of Strasbourg, France, a museum exhibition titled «Displays of Horror» was unveiled at the European Parliament building.
This exhibition, focusing on the crimes committed by Russian aggressors in Ukraine, is being presented for the first time in a location where historical decisions are made and European policies are shaped.
The exhibition was organized by the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. The museum emphasizes that they have assembled more than just artifacts.
«Each item serves as evidence of real crimes committed by Russian invaders, including the shelling of the children’s hospital „Okhmatdyt“ in Kyiv; the establishment of an improvised concentration camp in Yahidne, Chernihiv region; mass killings of civilians in Izium, whose bodies were buried in large mass graves; and the bombing of a printing house in Kharkiv…», — the museum states.
Attending the exhibition presentation were European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, the idea's author and project curator, MEP Ondřej Kolář, and Ukraine's representative to the Council of Europe, Borys Tarasyuk.
The General Director of the War Museum, Yurii Savchuk, mentioned in his speech the latest high-profile crime by the Kremlin — a missile and drone strike on Kyiv on the night of June 17, which marked new deaths of innocent Ukrainians in the tragic timeline of the war. He stressed that holding criminals accountable is a duty of the civilized world to those who will never be able to testify for themselves.
The exhibition has resonated significantly in the political heart of the European Union, reminding lawmakers of simple axioms: Ukraine needs support in this struggle, and evil must be punished. May each displayed artifact become a word inscribed in the verdict against Russian criminals that will be issued by the highest international judicial authorities.
The museum expresses sincere gratitude for the initiative and leadership in implementing the project to MEP Ondřej Kolář.
