The project «Ukrainian Book Shelf» has recently expanded its reach by launching in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
This was announced by Ukraine's First Lady, Olena Zelenska.
What to know about the Ukrainian Book Shelf in Thailand
«I am grateful to Thailand for becoming the 59th country to join our global project, which now includes over 250 shelves and 57,000 books,» - emphasized the President's wife.
The new shelf features 60 books across various genres, from fiction to children's literature.
Notably, the collection «The Soul of the Earth: The History of Ukraine in Ten Poems» includes works by Ukrainian poets, translated into Thai for the first time.
In the last month, the project has also significantly expanded in Europe and beyond.
New shelves have opened in two cities in Poland (Katowice and Szczecin), three cities in Hungary (Vác, Kisvárda, and Záhon), in Portugal (Santa Maria da Feira), and even in South Africa — at the National Library.
«Thank you to our consulates and embassies. Ukrainian books are traveling to Ukrainians abroad.
They are also introducing our roots to friends in different countries who wish to learn about us not only through news but also through literature and scholarly works,» - concluded Zelenska.
