Young individuals aged 18 to 35 will have the chance not only to discover their homeland but also to contribute to its recovery.

In collaboration with the «Ukrainian Youth Center» and the NGO «Active Citizens City», the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, supported by UNDP, is implementing the youth exchange program «RENEW: UA». This initiative is funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Japan.

Since its launch, the program has engaged over 1,500 participants from 2022 to 2024, resulting in the restoration of 52 youth spaces across Ukraine.

In 2025, «RENEW: UA» will expand to 15 communities in various regions. During the summer, youth will reside in these communities, where recovery efforts are ongoing, and will immerse themselves in local culture, participating in workshops and training sessions.

The program includes three key components:

  • Volunteering – participating in recovery efforts to create youth spaces.
  • Education – developing competencies in leadership, media literacy, and social cohesion.
  • Cultural program – immersion in the history and traditions of host communities.

Participation in the program is free of charge: expenses for accommodation, meals, and travel are covered. No prior construction experience is required.

This initiative not only aids in the physical recovery of the country but also strengthens social ties and nurtures a new generation of leaders. United by a common goal, the youth of Ukraine is building a brighter future together.
