The influence of Petrykivka painting can be seen in the new designs.
Employees of the KP UZN Podilsky district have created a vibrant floral arrangement at Kontraktova Square, merging traditional Ukrainian motifs with modern landscape design. The flowerbed sketch draws inspiration from Petrykivka painting, enriching the space with national color and harmony.
The design includes various plant species, each playing a crucial role in the overall concept. Begonia adds delicacy with its lush flowers in warm tones. Alternanthera provides bright accents with its deep red and burgundy leaves, reminiscent of traditional Ukrainian patterns. Coleus complements the palette with contrasting combinations of green, yellow, and purple.
Every element of the composition is thoughtfully crafted to create an aesthetic space for relaxation for residents and visitors of Kyiv. The new flowerbed not only beautifies the square but also serves as a reminder of the richness of Ukrainian culture, providing passersby with a good mood and inspiration.
As a reminder, in celebration of Kyiv Day, each district's greenery enterprise has prepared mini-parks as a gift to the city and its residents — cozy green islands amidst the urban landscape.
The parks feature benches, pergolas, and modular flowerbeds, with specialists opting for plants resilient to urban conditions, such as ornamental grasses: Chinese Miscanthus, Pennisetum, and others.
A variety of perennial flowers have also been planted, including Physostegia, Echinacea, Sage, Geranium, Phlox, and more. Among the trees and shrubs, Forsythia, Spiraea, dogwood, and other species have been utilized in the parks.
