Details: Wadeful arrived in Lviv, where an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers took place on May 9. The evening prior, on May 8, he shared a brief video on his X account confirming his arrival in Ukraine.
In comments to reporters, the minister assured that Germany will remain one of the strongest supporters of Ukraine and "will clearly demonstrate this in the coming days".
The German foreign minister expressed his intention to inquire about Ukraine's current needs.
"We will continue to do what is necessary and will keep doing it until Russia understands that this war must end, that they need to sit at the negotiating table, and that they must adhere to a ceasefire", – Wadeful stated.
The new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz also mentioned plans to visit Ukraine soon.
