Ukraine and the Czech Republic have initiated a joint project to establish a training base for F-16 pilots.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference with Czech President Petr Pavel in Prague on Sunday, as reported by "European Truth".
Zelensky noted that representatives from both nations are discussing the details of implementing the "aviation coalition", particularly the establishment of a Ukrainian-Czech school for training F-16 pilots.
"Currently, due to security reasons, we cannot open such a base within Ukraine, as Russian strikes continue daily. Therefore, we are collaborating with our partners to ensure that such schools can operate outside Ukraine, and this will happen soon," Zelensky emphasized.
He also mentioned that an agreement was reached in Prague that "the Czech Republic will support us in implementing these initiatives".
President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the Czech Republic for an official visit on Sunday.
Following his meeting with President Pavel, Zelensky stated that under the "Czech ammunition initiative", Ukraine could receive 1.8 million artillery shells this year.
