The victim was rushed to the hospital while the attacker was apprehended. He faces up to eight years in prison for his actions.
In Kyiv, the emergency hotline 102 received a report from medical workers regarding a man hospitalized with a stab wound to the chest in the Solomyanskyi district.
Law enforcement determined that the injured party was a 25-year-old local resident visiting his 24-year-old friend. A disagreement during their gathering escalated into a fight, during which the 24-year-old homeowner stabbed his guest in the chest.
Police detained the attacker under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators, under the supervision of the Solomyanskyi District Prosecutor's Office, informed the suspect of charges under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional severe bodily harm. The penalty for this offense can be imprisonment for up to eight years.
