A 21-year-old foreigner has been charged with hooliganism and intentional infliction of serious bodily harm. He faces up to eight years in prison for his actions.
Emergency services alerted the police via hotline 102 that a man had been stabbed near an entertainment venue in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. The investigative team from the Holosiivskyi police department arrived at the scene, gathered details of the crime, and apprehended the attacker.
Authorities preliminarily established that the suspect, a 21-year-old foreigner, was on the club's terrace when he began to harass an unfamiliar girl. A 20-year-old local man accompanying her intervened and attempted to stop the inappropriate behavior.
In response, the suspect instigated a fight, pulled out a knife, and struck the victim three times in the chest and arm. The victim was hospitalized.
Police detained the assailant under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and, with the oversight of the Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor's Office, charged him under Part 4 of Article 296 (hooliganism) and Part 1 of Article 121 (intentional infliction of serious bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, the issue of selecting a preventive measure in the form of detention is being addressed.
