The law enforcement agencies of Kyiv have announced a charge against a KCCA official. The incident, related to negligence in duty, resulted in substantial financial losses for the city budget. Investigators, in collaboration with the SBU and the prosecutor's office, discovered that during widespread power outages in 2023, an official from the Municipal Security Department of the KCCA organized a tender for the procurement of one hundred diesel generators to support the Resilience Points.
However, the official failed to properly execute their duties and did not monitor market prices for the relevant products. As a result, the costs for the purchased generators were inflated.
According to a series of judicial examinations, it was established that the city budget suffered losses amounting to nearly 5 million hryvnias.
Investigators have already informed the official of the suspicion under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – negligence in duty. For the committed act, they face imprisonment for up to five years and a prohibition on holding certain positions for up to three years.
