Kyiv police, in collaboration with the Security Service of Ukraine, have discovered that a Kyiv city administration official illegally traveled abroad twice during the state of war. These trips, ostensibly for strengthening international ties, were based on forged invitations to conferences.
In 2023, the official attended a conference in Barcelona, and in 2024, in Florence. However, the invitations turned out to be fake, allowing him to cross the state border and stay in Italy and Spain for over two weeks.
Investigators have charged the official under the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries serious penalties, including imprisonment for up to three years and a prohibition from holding certain positions.
