The offender faces a maximum of five years of imprisonment for his actions.
Kyiv law enforcement discovered the event through social media. A video surfaced on a Telegram channel showing a young man running along the balustrade between escalators at «Khreshchatyk» metro station, grabbing onto advertising lights. He broke one of them, causing financial damage to the advertising company.
Police identified the perpetrator as a 19-year-old from Cherkasy region who recently moved to the capital for work.
Currently, investigators have informed the young man of his suspicion under part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - hooliganism.
