A preventive measure has been established for the individual suspected of murdering Andriy Parubiy.
This was reported by the Office of the General Prosecutor.
The Halytskyi District Court of Lviv has approved the request from the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office. The suspect will be held in custody for 60 days without the option of bail.
The actions of the 52-year-old Lviv resident are classified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: part 1 of article 115 (intentional murder) and part 1 of article 263 (illegal handling of weapons).
Recall that on August 30, the suspect fired eight shots at the member of parliament in Lviv, resulting in the victim's immediate death. The next day, he was apprehended in the Khmelnytskyi region.
"When gunfire echoes in the streets, it is a warning sign for the entire country. We must respond decisively to ensure that every crime against life is subject to the strictest legal assessment," emphasized Mykola Meret, the head of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
