The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another Russian agent in the Donetsk region. This individual was involved in directing enemy fire in the Kramatorsk direction. His primary task was to locate and relay coordinates of repair facilities where Ukrainian military equipment was being restored after battles.
It was found that the detainee is a 37-year-old employee of a local factory, who came under the scrutiny of Russian special services due to his brother living in the Russian Federation and cooperating with the occupiers.
Following recruitment, the individual began photographing the workshops of his enterprise, which were used for the repair of Ukrainian military vehicles. He conducted this hidden filming during work shifts while fulfilling defense contracts.
The photos taken, along with geolocations, were intended to be sent to his curator through an anonymous chat in a messenger.
The gathered intelligence was planned for use in preparing new strikes by the aggressors.
Counterintelligence of the Security Service acted proactively to prevent the leakage of information regarding defense industry capabilities in the frontline region.
During the arrest, the agent's smartphone, which he used to take pictures of the repair facilities and communicate with the FSB curator, was confiscated.
The Security Service has informed him of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is being held in custody without the right to bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Operations were conducted by the Security Service in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office.
