Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, including the Security Service, the National Police, and the General Prosecutor's Office, suspect that Russian special services may be linked to the assassination of MP Andriy Parubiy. This information was obtained during investigative actions involving the detained suspect.

«The crime shows signs of being contracted. We have operational information indicating the possible involvement of Russian special services in organizing the murder. We are collaborating with law enforcement colleagues to identify all those involved in this audacious crime, confirm the information sources, and gather evidence,» said Vadym Onyshchenko, head of the SBU in the Lviv region.

Recall that on the night of August 31 to September 1, SBU, National Police, and prosecutors detained a man suspected of murdering MP Andriy Parubiy. Thanks to coordinated actions, law enforcement tracked down the suspect within 24 hours of the attack and arrested him within 36 hours.

The actions of the suspect have been classified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 1 of Article 115 (intentional murder) and Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons). The disclosure of the crime and the arrest were personally overseen by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing.

Law enforcement will provide further updates on the investigation and any new confirmed facts regarding the crime.
