Cyber specialists from the Security Service of Ukraine uncovered another individual working for Russian intelligence in Kyiv. According to the case materials, the suspect was collecting information on the security systems of administrative buildings belonging to the defense forces in the capital. SBU officers apprehended her in the act while she was scouting near the Main Directorate of the National Guard. Under agent orders, she was supposed to prepare and send a layout plan of the checkpoints and service parking areas surrounding the defense facility.

The investigation revealed that the agent was also gathering similar intelligence about military command points in different districts of Kyiv. It has been reported that the enemy planned to use this intelligence for preparing new terrorist attacks and airstrikes on the capital of Ukraine. It was established that the agent was a 36-year-old freelancer recruited by the FSB through an acquaintance from temporarily occupied Crimea who collaborates with Russia. If she completed enemy tasks, she hoped for “evacuation” to Russia via third countries.

The SBU thwarted the enemy's plans and detained their accomplice. During a search, a smartphone was seized that she used for contacting her FSB handlers. Currently, the Security Service has informed the detainee of suspicion under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed in wartime). The criminal faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The actions were carried out under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
