Corruption cases related to the procurement of generators for school shelters have emerged, leading to suspicions against four entrepreneurs and a representative of the Dnipro District Education Department.
According to information from the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, four entrepreneurs who supplied the generators are charged with misappropriating budget funds (Part 4, Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The head of the Education Department is also suspected of aiding in this crime (Part 5, Article 27, Part 4, Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It has been established that the Dnipro District Education Department purchased generators for shelters in educational institutions at inflated prices. Experts have concluded that the cost of the generators was inflated by 870,000 hryvnias. One entrepreneur won the tender while another sourced the generators to supply, and two others assisted in diverting the funds and signing the relevant documents.
Currently, measures are being considered regarding the suspects and the suspension of the head of the Dnipro District Education Department from their position.
