The Ukrainian security services carried out an operation that led to the dismantling of an enemy network operating in the Odesa region.
As a result of the operation, four individuals linked to Russian intelligence activities were arrested.
The suspects were gathering information about weapons storage sites and the locations of Ukrainian forces to relay to the enemy for attacks.
The investigation revealed that one of the participants was a guard at a sports school, who was recruited through an acquaintance from Crimea.
Subsequently, he formed a group of informants from his friends to assist in gathering intelligence on military movements.
The group also actively questioned local residents about military movements, using the collected data to adjust attacks.
The SBU uncovered this network at early stages of its activity and conducted the arrest of all members.
The suspects have been charged under Ukrainian legislation.
- Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 (treason);
- Part 2 of Article 114-2 (dissemination of information about the Armed Forces).
The offenders face life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. The operation was conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
