The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a Russian informant in Kharkiv, previously an actor in a children's theater. Acting on orders from Russian intelligence, he was coordinating airstrikes on the city.

Key targets included Ukrainian Armed Forces positions.

The 61-year-old suspect used his smartphone to document military locations, disguising it as casual city walks.

He sent the gathered intelligence to Russian handlers through a friend from Russia.

They created an anonymous chat in a popular messaging app for discreet communication.

The SBU documented his activities and arrested him during the information-gathering stage, securing Ukrainian military positions.

During a search, his phone was confiscated as it was used to collect data on potential targets.

The suspect has now been charged under Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for unauthorized dissemination of information about military formations.

He is in custody, facing up to 8 years in prison.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of the regional prosecutor's office.
