Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, uncovered and detained two women linked to Russian intelligence who were planning a series of terrorist attacks in Poltava and Dnipro.

During a special operation, law enforcement detained two individuals who were agents of Russian military intelligence preparing to carry out explosions targeting judges and volunteers in frontline cities.

The investigation revealed that the women carrying out the orders of the Russian special service resided in Poltava and had criminal records for drug trafficking and theft.

They came to the attention of the aggressor through Telegram channels, where they sought easy earnings after being released from prison.

Their task was the physical elimination of judges and well-known volunteers using homemade explosive devices (HEDs).

To execute their plans, the agents split up: one remained in Poltava to gather information on potential targets, while the other traveled to Dnipro for similar purposes.

Upon arrival in Dnipro, one of the agents received instructions regarding the location of explosives hidden in a scooter's trunk.

She parked the rigged vehicle next to a local judge's car, planning to detonate it remotely.

To monitor the judge's arrival at the intended target site, the agent set up a camera with remote access for the Russian intelligence.

However, at that moment, she was apprehended by SBU officers, while her accomplice was detained at her residence in Poltava.

Before executing their main tasks, the agents conducted a test by setting fire to a vehicle belonging to a Ukrainian soldier.

SBU investigators charged the detainees under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

 part 2 of article 111 (high treason in wartime);
 part 2 of article 15, part 2 of article 258 (completed attempt to commit a terrorist act by a group of individuals);
 part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article 114-1 (obstruction of lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period by a group of individuals).

The detainees are in custody and face life imprisonment with asset confiscation.

The operation was conducted by SBU officers in Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions in cooperation with the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Dnipropetrovsk Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector.
